From Vamp gal pal to rocker...Twilight's Kristen Stewart will play rocker Joan Jett in the biopic "The Runaways" says The Hollywood Reporter.
The Runaways were hugely influential as the first successful all-girl hard rock band.
After four years together-with success along the way, they fell apart over management and money issues in 1979.
The film will trace the group's rise as teenagers to their dissolution and disillusionment.
Jett of course went onto a successful solo career with her most notable hit being the legendary "I Love Rock N’ Roll" in 1982.
Music video director Floria Sigismondi wrote the screenplay and is directing.
Stewart bears a resemlance to Jett--Will she sing or dubbed by the real thing?
An '09 start is set--fear not Twilighters they will work around Stewart's commitments to the two sequels.
