Curious George

After his big move last week...It seems that actor George Clooney wants to boost his recently sagging box office quotient (The Good German, Leatherheads)...

From The Daily Beast's Kim Masters:

Clooney's expressed interest in playing Jack Ryan if and when attempts to restart the film series based on Tom Clancy's novels takes hold.

Simce he's now in his late 40's "Clooney seems to recognize that at this time in the world and this time in his life it's time for some commercial maintenance."

The early 1990's saw Alec Baldwin as the character for one pic and Harrison Ford as Ryan in 2 flicks.

The last film. The Sum Of All Fears starred Ben Affleck came in'04.

Ryan Gosling and James Franco, have also been linked to the possible revival of the series since 2008...Ford even expressed interest in one more go round.

Clooney already tried to be Ryanesque in The Peacemaker,,,I say give the role to a young gun and let Geo play his boss.
