"I Just Want To Be Perfect"

As promised here is director Jason Christopher--now working on his latest pic called Down the Road (Watch The AWESOME Teaser Trailer) sharing his thoughts on Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan Take it away Jay...

You go into a movie theater and the last thing you think is...a movie about a ballet with be fantastic.

Yeah I was absolutely wrong. The movie was phenomenal.

Natalie Portman plays Nina Sayers, a passionate ballerina with an awkward mother. She tries out for the lead in the Swan Lake play. She gets the lead role but has competition with new ballerina, Lily, (Mila Kunis More beautiful than ever, I must add) The two young dancers turn their competition into a pretty wild and exciting friendship.

The movie seems to start out slow but quickly picks up and turns into this amazing thriller. Darren Aronofsky delivers my second favorite film from him. It's a close tie with  Requiem for a Dream and Black Swan.

He does this really cool transition style in the movie from scene to scene a few times.

The way it's done adds such a tense tone to it. This one camera setup I was pretty stoked about was when Nina is spinning in a circle, for a numerous amount of times, the camera does a POV shot and spins around in the circle really quick, stops and faces the director of the play, Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel). Then picks up again, spins, stops, spins, stop. It's really cool and different. As is nearly anything Aronofsky does.

I'm really hoping this movie gets some kind of Oscar nod this year.

So go out and check out, Black Swan. A brilliant psychological thriller.

Remember I'm not a critic just a guy who likes movies and likes to recommend good ones.
