Mexican actor and singer Diego González Boneta is in talks to join the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages says The Wrap.
Boneta would play the lead role of Drew Boley, a singer-guitarist described as “the nicest aspiring rocker you’ll find in the Bourbon Room.” However, no official offer has been made at this time. 21 year old Australian actor Sebastian Gregory (“Accidents Happen”) was said to be circling the same role
Director Adam Shankman has been reworking the Rock of Ages script with Justin Theroux-from show creator Chris D'Arienzo's first draft
Tom Cruise Julianne Hough Mary J Blige Alec Baldwin also star while Paul Giamatti and Amy Adams are both in talks as is Russell Brand
Carl Levin, Matt Weaver, Scott Prisand, actorTobey Maguire and Jennifer Gibgot will produce. Janet Billig and Hillary Weaver are executive producers.
Rock of Ages hits screens in 2012.
