Chris Hemsworth Discusses “Thor” and “The Avengers”

The 2009 adaptation of Star Trek bears Chris Hemsworth’s debut performance, and though he didn’t become a household name from that small performance, he’ll certainly be on the A-list this time next year after everyone sees his highly publicized role as Thor on May 6th and in The Avengers next year.

He recently discussed his various projects with IGN, including the perpetually delayed remake of Red Dawn and Cabin In The Woods...

You can read the entire interview there, but here’s the most particularly interesting – and exciting – bit:

IGN: When do you start working on The Avengers?

Hemsworth: Everybody in the cast? The film starts shooting in a couple of weeks, and then I come on after the
Thor press tour, which is around sort of the beginning of May. That's when I enter the scene.

Even though I’m extremely anxious about The Avengers, I’m still stoked that filming will begin in the near future. Of course, expect tons of news updates, press releases, and not-so-subtle in-film promotion – if Iron Man 2 served as any indication – over the course of 2011.

Also, check out this clip from Thor that also comes courtesy of IGN.
