Paramount hired Alison Schapker and Monica Breen, writers on the television series Fringe, to rewrite a project currently slated to go to J.J. Abrams. It’s top secret, but Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood has heard that the film apparently deals with “Japanese history and robots.”
Science-fiction cinema has been in a lull for the past several years, creatively and artistically speaking. However, the Abrams-helmed Star Trek reboot was surprisingly good and entertained both Trekkies and unfamiliar audiences. No doubt that this collaboration could be an excellent sci-fi film.
How do you feel about this screenplay that fuses “history and robots”?
