A new frontrunner seems to have emerged to play the lead in Tony Gilroy's upcoming "The Bourne Legacy reports Latino Review.
It seems Gilroy was interested in casting Oscar Isaac for the role vacated by Matt Damon, but the suits at the studio did not approve of the actor, for whatever reason Thus earlier today, an offer went out to Jeremy Renner
Just last week--Luke Evans, Joel Edgerton, Dominic Cooper and Garrett Hedlund were said to be in the top tier with Shia Labeouf and Taylor Kitsch also in the running. Issac was on a larger list that included Tobey Maguire, Josh Hartnett, Michael Fassbender Oscar Isaac, Kellan Lutz, Alex Pettyfer, Michael Pitt Paul Dano Benjamin Walker and Jake Gyllenhaal
I have nothing against Renner at all--but isn't he being groomed to take over for Tom Cruise once Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol is released? And then there's whole superhero thing with The Avengers and beyond....A third franchise??
Shooting on Legacy is hoping to kick off in the Spring.
