Rawson Marshall Thurber has been hired to direct the spy comedy "Central Intelligence" says THR.
The story has Ed Helms playing an accountant whose
reconnecting with an old friend through Facebook throws him head first
into the world of international espionage.
Thurber
will also re-write the screenplay Previous script drafts were worked on by Ike Barinholtz, Dave Stassen, Peter Steinfeld, Sean Anders and John Morris.
Helms would also executive produce the project
Dean Parisot was originally slated to direct the film when it was at Universal, but Helms' commitment to "The Hangover Part III" shut down the project at the time. New Line Cinema acquired the film recently.
Scott Stuber, Peter Principato and Paul Young are on board as producers.
