Channing Tatum Isn't Really Keen On "23 Jump Street"

We know that Rodney Rothman, who co-wrote 22 Jump Street has been hired by Sony Pictures to pen the next film in the franchise called 23 Jump Street.

He does that under the supervision of Phil Lord and Chris Miller who directed the first two films and are producing the third --they may direct but haven't committed yet.

Series star ChanningTatum tells USA Today that the second film's suggestion of "medical school" as the setting for next film would just be a cop out, and he isn't sure where the next film will go:

"If we did a third one, it could n't be in there. I feel like that would be a cop-out. College was the obvious next step for us. We had to go there. I don't know what the next step is after college. Do we go and take down Enron? Or the government in D.C.? I feel like it's all redundant. The big running joke of the second movie is this is just going to be bigger and (crappier) than the first time. I don't know if that joke works three times so we'll see."

"22 Jump Street" made $320 million in box-office worldwide off of a $50 million budget.
