The third film serves as a prequel to the previous two films as gifted psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl (Stefanie Scott of "A.N.T. Farm") who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity.
Dermot Mulroney ("August: Osage County") also stars.
"Saw" and "Insidious" writer/actor Leigh Whannell directed here. He wrote and starred as 'Specs' in the first two films and is expected to do so again for this one, as well as calling action
Insidious: Chapter 2 director James Wan remains onboard as producer with Jason Blum and Oren Peli
The film is slated for an April 3rd 2015 release.
