"Little House" Film Gets New Director

THR reports that "Martha Marcy May Marlene" filmmaker Sean Durkin is in negotiations to direct a big screen adaptation of the beloved TV series "Little House on the Prairie" .

Author Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote the semi-autobiographical Nine-Book Series between 1932 and 1943 about farm life in the late 19th Century American West. They were then used as the basis for the 1974-1983 TV series starring Michael Landon and Melissa Gilbert.


Abi Morgan ("Shame," "The Iron Lady") wrote the adapted script

Scott Rudin will produce the film.

At one point in the Fall of 2012 David Gordon Green ("Your Highness," "Pineapple Express") was in line to call the shots here.
