Burn-Out?

With the release of Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer rumors of both a spin-off flick for the Silver Surfer, and a 3rd movie for the FF quickly spread.

It appears likely that the SS spin-off, will indeed happen-while the other, apparently will not.

Chris Evans who plays Johnny Storm aka Human Torch (pictured) told MTV that the future is quite uncertain for the franchise.

I’m pretty sure we won’t do [another] one. I’m assuming that one is a closed book.”

Evans credits the lack of news as his basis for saying that the franchise is dead. Immediately after the first movie opened the cast was given information about possible titles and plots for the sequel. It’s been almost a year since the second film was in theaters and Evans says they haven’t heard anything about #3-- leading him to believe the franchise is done.

Evans says if that is the case, he's is happy to be free from the time commitment and has kept very busy on other projects. That said, the actor wouldn’t mind popping up as the Torch in one of Marvel’s other movies in a crossover-franchise cameo.

Evans' theory is solid We've heard about every other super powered sequel-except FF-and usually chatter, official or otherwise, happens fast. Not here. Persomally, I'd like to see the franchise get one more shot, before calling it a day. Time (and $$$) will tell.
