Sony's Will Smith tentpole "Hancock" got off to a rip-roaring start, grossing between $6.7 million and $6.8 million from 3,680 theaters in Tuesday night previews.
Film, which began playing at 7 p.m., expanded to 3,965 runs when officially opening today.
