Resolving Your Differences

A court conference scheduled yesterday between Fox and Warner Bros. attorneys has been canceled in the Watchmen legal case according toThe Hollywood Reporter.



Fueling speculation that a settlement in the case is imminent.

Settlement chatter between the two sides kicked in full on over the weekend and continued to heat up yesterday.

A settlement could cost Warners tens of millions of dollars as Fox is reportedly asking for upfront fees as well as a percentage of the box office.

Warners has also settled a copyright ownership issue over "The Dukes of Hazzard" movie for a reported $17.5 million. The settlement in this case, with the films pricey $130 million budget could be higher as well.

At the same time the studio, the most financially successful of 2008 has asked its various departments to cut their budgets by at some 10% says Deadline Hollywood Daily.
