The Da Vinci Stash

Roger Donaldson, who most recently directed the Jason Statham film The Bank Job, is set to helm another fact-based heist flick says Variety.

He will adapt Seymour Reit's novel The Day They Stole the Mona Lisa.

The book centers on the theft of the world's most famous painting from the Louvre Museum in 1911.

It was missing for more than two years before an Italian carpenter named Vincent Perugia showed up with the painting in Florence. showed up with the painting in Florence.

The film will center on the man who masterminded the theft.
