Ritchie Lands Lobo

Fresh from Sherlock Holmes director Guy Ritchie will helm a live-action comic book film adaptation of "Lobo" says Variety.

In the comics the character created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, is a alien interstellar bounty hunter. The seven-foot tall, blue-skinned, indestructible and heavily muscled anti-hero drives a pimped out motorcycle, and lands on Earth in search of four fugitives who are bent on wreaking havoc. Lobo has a small town teenaged girl sidekick to help stop the creatures.

Don Payne wrote the most recent script draft.

Joel Silver, Akiva Goldsman, and Andrew Rona (The Brothers Grimm) are producing the pic

Ritchiie is not your typical dirctor and Lobo is not your typical comic book "hero"--As evidenced by the cover seen here

I say this makes a perfect match...

Shooting kicks off early next year on the PG-13 film.
