MGM has decided to delay the Joss Whedon written much anticipated horror flick "The Cabin in the Woods" a full year - from February 5th 2010 to January 14th 2011 says STYD.
The reason?
Test screening responses have been so good that the film is undergoing a six month post-production conversion into 3-D....
Ugh! The way I see this--it's never a good thing for a film especially in the horror genre when the release date is pushed back.
The fact that they are turning it into some 3-D pic sounds like a desperation move. Scary is scary with or without the gimmick of 3-D...
I'd love to be proven wrong here--but it just seems fishy
The film is said to put a new twist on a classic scenario -- young-people-stranded-in-the-woods.
Chris Hemsworth, Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Kristen Connolly, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams and Brian White star
Drew Goddard directed and co-wrote the feature.
