Anna's With Cancer

Anna Kendrick has joined the untitled cancer dramatic comedy--Formerly titled I'm With Cancer-- says Variety.

James McAvoy's playing a 25-year-old who learns he has cancer, a character based on the real experiences of screenwriter Will Reiser, who was diagnosed with cancer in his mid-20s and successfully battled the disease over several years.

Kendrick will play the role of Katherine, a young psychologist assigned to handle Adam's case despite her lack of real life experience.

The film hit a snag in November when director Nicole Holofcener left due to a disagreement over the filming location. Jonathan Levine (The Wackness) has now taken over to direct.

Seth Rogen co-stars and will produce the film with Evan Goldberg and Ben Karlin.

Filmking kicks off in February in Vancouver.
