Rock Hard

Even as James Franco continues to toil away on the daytime soap General Hospital Production Weekly reports that Franco has been cast in Danny Boyle true life drama 127 Hours.

Franco will portray mountain climber Aron Ralston, who made national news in 2003 when he was forced to amputate his own arm that was crushed under a boulder for more than five days, while climbing in Utah.

Following the amputation, he had to climb a 65-foot wall of rock and hiked until he was discovered by a family and later rescued by helicopter.

His dramatic turns in Milk puts Franco in fine stead here--it also doesn't hurt that he looks a bit like Ralston.

The film will start production at the beginning of March in Utah.
