Jim Lee, Dan Didio and Geoff Johns ...Lee and Didio will each serve as co-publishers of the comics division, while Johns is now chief creative officer of DCE. All three, along with new executive vice-presidents John Rood and Patrick Caldon, will report directly to Nelson.
The move happened in order to fully integrate DC’s comic book heroes — across all of Warner Bros.. and Time Warner businesses, including its film division.
"DC Entertainment's new executive team is a creative 'dream team,' with accomplishments and talent unrivaled in the business," said Nelson
Following the announcement, Nelson spoke with MTV saying that DC Entertainment’s content plans would be revealed during the next few months, and that every property would be examined.
[Thank God] She denied that a Watchmen sequel is in the pipeline...
"No, that's all rumor," Nelson said. "I'm not sure where it came from. We'll be looking closely at our whole library and making sure we're looking for opportunities to mine every property where it makes sense, and with integrity, but that's just rumor."
She also addressed news that "The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan would be overseeing the Superman film series
"We don't have any plans about that, and as I've mentioned, in the coming months we'll be making a lot of announcements about what our content plans will be," Nelson added. "But right now, that's nothing but rumor—and we frankly don't say a whole lot more about rumor than that, so..."
No Nolan for Supes is disappointing...But perhaps with this new creative team now in place, perhaps the Man Of Steel's film future is a bit brighter just the same.
Meantime speaking of Nolan's as yet Untitled Batman Sequel Here are the latest rumours courtesy a scooper inside Warner Bros via Comic Book Movies
The source claims that, with screenwriting beginning this month, the plot is already in place. There were stories last week that a first draft might actually be complete
They claim that the villain of the piece is The Riddler and that Arkham Asylum will feature heavily in the story--several other classic Bat-villains will cameo
According to the source,Barbara Gordon s role will be upticked and Dick Grayson may also make an appearance, though probably not as Robin
And by way those integration plans, Commissioner James Gordon could name-drop Lex Luthor and Metropolis in the sequel.
Sounds like that's all just Bat speculation/wish list fan boy stuff
