To Eyre Is Human

Jamie Bell, Judi Dench, Sally Hawkins, and Imogen Poots are all in negotiations to join the cast of the latest film adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's haunting tale "Jane Eyre" says Reuters.

The story follows a governess (Mia Wasikowska) who softens the heart of her notably older employer Edward Rochester (Michael Fassbender), but mysterious noises and attacks in the manor house hint at someone else residing there - a terrible secret kept locked away that on occasion manages to escape and wreak havoc.

Bell (pictured) would portray Eyre's clergyman cousin. Dench plays the manor's housekeeper Mrs. Fairfax, and Hawkins will play Eyre's abusive aunt Mrs. Reed.

Cary Fukunaga ("Sin Nombre") is directing this more Gothic adaptation of the novel .
