Robert De Niro is poised to play legendary football coach Vince Lombardi in an ESPN produced biopic says ESPN.com.
Eric Roth will write "Lombardi" which follows the coach during the period starting in 1959 when he took over the Green Bay Packers.and changed them from the worst team to five-time champions.
The film also deals with the rivalry between Lombardi and legendary
De Niro's producing partner Jane Rosenthal, "“We’ve had an extraordinary relationship with Espn for five years through the Tribeca Film Festival, and now we’re able to extend that association into production"
