Writer Kirsten Smith ("Legally Blonde") will make her directorial debut on the comedy Camp Rules says Variety.
Based on Jordan Roter's young adult novel, the story chronicles the exploits of 16-year-old Penny Moore during her eight-week stint at a girl's camp in Maine.
Smith will also pen the screenplay with journalist/novelist Deanna Kizis, from uthor Roter who adapted a previous draft
Jason Blum, Tom Pollack, Jeff Clifford and Ali Bell are producing.
