The Los Angeles Times has confirmed that both comic book pics Thor.and Captain America: The First Avenger " will be released in (Ugh!) converted 3-D.
It seems that "Cap" director Joe Johnston had shot some tests with 3-D cameras and called the process "a nightmae"--as a result the pic will be shot in 2-D and converted in post
Johnston, "Thor" helmet Kenneth Branagh and studio suit Kevin Feige all aggree in the negative stigma against 'converted 3D', Feige saying "I'd say there's not a great feeling out there for conversion based on some of the films that may have succeeded financially but had their artistry come under fire."
Feige added that "an unprecedented amount of time would be devoted to the conversion process", and the various special effects for both films have been conceived and executed from the beginning in 3-D.
The 'citadels of Asgard' of Thor for example will be seen in the format
