Laying Roots

Jason Biggs and Joel David Moore will star in the Seattle-based indie comedy Grassroots says Variety.

Based on Phillip Campbell's memoir “Zioncheck for President", the story follows a recently sacked journo (Biggs) who reluctantly agrees to help his friend, a former pedicab driver (Moore), spearhead the Seattle City Council campaign for a monorail.

The Wrap (via Film School Rejects) reports that Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under, Can't Hardly Wait), DC Pierson (Mystery Team, Derrick Comedy), Cobie Smulders, Cedric the Entertainer and Tom Arnold (True Lies) are set to co star

Peggy Rajski will produce.

Filming kicked off in late June in Seattle.
