British actor Andrew Garfield has been chosen to play Spidey in the new 3-D as yet Untitled Spider-Man Reboot
The news has been confirmed by the studio
“After a comprehensive worldwide casting search, Andrew Garfield has been chosen to portray Peter Parker when Spider-Man swings back onto the screen in 3D on July 3, 2012. The new film will begin production in early December directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt. Laura Ziskin and Avi Arad will produce the film...”
Garfield beat out names like Jamie Bell and Anton Yelchin to win the part. The 26-year old actor has most recently worked on the The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and The Social Network
Garfield is still a relative unknown quantity--despite a rising profile--fingers crossed...
Garfield will immediately begin preparing to step into the suit
