Soft Speak

File this one under "I Will Believe It When I See It..."

Talking with Variety last week, Microsoft Game Studio's franchise development director Frank O'Connor says that already an "awful lot" of prep has been done to make Halo movie--adding that they "have a good idea of what kind of story we want to tell".

They're not committed to a deadline - "[We] won't move on it until there's a great reason to do it. We're in no particular hurry" says O'Connor who promised that the long developing pic would be a standalone story rather than recreating the game's storyline.

O'Connor essentially said the same thing back in April

During the course of its development, Stuart Beattie, Alex Garland, Josh Olson and D.B. Weiss have all tried their hand at the script

A "Halo" TV series has also been discussed as well

Someone who wants to make a film not in a rush a to make a movie...I'll say....Who would have thought?
