News broke back in February that pals Ben Affleck and Matt Damon were going to reunite onscreen in the 70's-set baseball player wife-swapping pic "The Trade".

At the time the pair were talking of playing the male leads with Affleck directing.

MTV News talked with Affleck who confirmed that the project is still on, but with some role swapping off screen as well. Affleck says his brother  Casey Affleck has come onboard, while his friend may replace him in the big chair.

"I don't know how it'll come together, acting and directing, but Casey and I have decided to write it together. Once the script's kind of ready, then it’s like: Who's doing what? What's the time frame? Matt, me, Casey directing? Particularly for Matt, he's had this extraordinary career where he's worked with these great directors. He's a great director who just hasn't directed a movie" says Affleck.

The film written by Dave Mandel will tell the true story of two New York Yankees pitchers who caused a national scandal by swapping wives back in the sexually-liberated 1970s.

Baseball teammates Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich stunned the country when they disclosed in spring training 1973 that they were trading wives. Peterson had fallen in love with Susanne Kekich and his teammate fell in love with Marilyn.
