The plot tells the story of a “story of friendship set in the world of male strippers"

Tatum will be playing a mentor to Pettyfer‘s 21-year-old dancer.

Soderbergh has said that they are using "Saturday Night Fever as our model".

Reid Carolin pens the screenplay.The idea of Magic Mike came about when Soderbergh and Tatum were working together on the espionage drama Haywire.

Tatum, Nick Wechsler, Gregory Jacobs and Carolin will produce the pic.
