Firth Is The Railway Man

Oscar winner Colin Firth will star in the revenge drama The Railway Man says THR


The film follows Eric Lomax (Firth), a real-life army officer who suffered at the hands of Japanese soldiers during World War II --only to seek revenge decades later.

The script by Andy Paterson and Frank Cottrell Boyce will adapt the Lomax memior of the same name

Jonathan Teplitzky will direct

Paterson, Chris Brown and  Bill Curbishley will produce the biopic.

"The Railway Man is an amazing story and to have the chance to make it with Colin Firth as Eric is really the best gift any director could hope for,” Teplitzky said.

Shooting begins this February in the U.K., Thailand and Queensland, Australia.
