"V for Vendetta" and "Ninja Assassin" director James McTeigue is in talks to direct Ness/Capone says Deadline.
The Grant Pierce Myers Black List script has a new spin on the legendary battle between United States Treasury agent Eliot Ness and crime boss Al Capone during Prohibition in the 1920s.
Not as black-and-white as say "The Untouchables", this version sees Ness as a young skirt-chasing publicity hound who gets off on the danger of the job.
He would parade confiscated bootleg trucks past Al Capone’s hotel, calling Capone in advance to suggest he look out the window.
Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, Gianni Nunnari, Jason Felts and Rene M. Rigal will produce the film.
