Farrell Circles A Revived Artie And Lance

Colin Farrell is in talks to lead a reworked Arthur & Lancelot says  Variety.

The $90 million-budgeted pic is described as a modern re-imagining of the King Arthur and Sir Lancelot legend.

Farrell's involvement gives the studio a more recognizable and bankable star--Since Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, was to play King Arthur while The Killing star Joel Kinnaman won the role of Lancelot beating out Harington and a slew of other contenders.   Both actors have left the film due to scheduling conflicts Marion Cotillard had been offered the role of Morgana, Gary Oldman was wanted for the role of Merlin--until Warners postponed the project due to budget and other concerns..

The film was written and will be directed by David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) as well as co-producer with Lionel Wigram, Charles Roven and Richard Suckle while Jeff Kleeman serves as executive producer.
