Ray Liotta is in talks to join the indie drama "The Rut" says The Hollywood Reporter.
Kevin Caruso's script centers on a young girl (Chloe Moretz) who journeys into the wilderness alone to hunt deer and win the approval of her father (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
Liotta will play a rival hunter obsessed with bow hunting who considers Morgan's character his rival.
Karyn Kusama's set to call action on the film.
Aaron Magnani and Martha Griffin are producing.
