Logue Helps Maintain Club "Cbgb"

Donal Logue has joined the cast Randall Miller's biopic "Cbgb" says THR.


The film traces the rise of the famous New York nightclub and its effects on the underground music scene in the late 70's and early 80's--and its founder Hilly Kristal (Alan Rickman).

Logue will play Merv Ferguson, the right-hand man to Kristal.

Actress Stana Katic will appear as Goldie and the Gingerbreads singer Genya Ravan, Richard De Klerk plays the club's soundman Taxi, Josh Zuckerman is playing Punk Magazine founder John Holmstrom, Ryan Hurst is 'Mad Mountain', and Estelle Harris as Hilly’s mother Bertha. Justin Bartha will play Stiv Bators, lead singer of the short-lived 70s punk band The Dead Boys. Rupert Grint will play Cheetah Chrome, the lead guitarist for The Dead Boys. Malin Akerman will play singer Debbie Harry from Blondie , while Joel David Moore and Julian Acosta are set to play Joey and Johnny Ramone. Johnny Galecki plays music manager Terry Ork, Mickey Sumner is Patti Smith, and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins will play Iggy Pop. Ashley Greene will play Lisa Kristal, the fiery young daughter of Hilly who frequently clashes with her father but ends up working as the business manager of his club.

Jody Savin and Miller wrote the script.

Savin, Miller, and Brad Rosenberger will produce the film

Production kicks off in a few weeks in Savannah, Georgia.
