The film will continue the action from last year's Rise of the Planet of the Apes. As human society contiues collapsing after a viral outbreak and the highly intelligent simians now free, the story will follow the apes on their path to emerge as society’s new rulers.
Wyatt’s departure is reportedly due to the fact that the director wasn't comfortable with making the May 23rd 2014 release date the studio had announced.
Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver are said to have turned in a script which the studio has warmed up to--after "Contagion" scribe Scott Z. Burns took a crack at it.
The pic is being readied in time to make that date. It's expected the studio and producers Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark will quickly move to nab a replacement.
With the 'Apes' sequel no longer in his sights, Wyatt is frre to pursue other projects he has been linked to including the Charlize Theron film "Agent 13" and the bipic "Londongrad" about former KGB spy Alexander Litvinenko who was poisoned by a lethal dose of polonium-210-induced acute radiation syndrome in 2006 .
