Cantillo Jons Blomkamp's "Chappie"

THR reveals that "The Walking Dead" and Elysium actor Jose Pablo Cantillo, will reunite with Neill Blomkamp for his next sci-fi film “Chappie”.

The film is based on “Tetra Vaal” a short film about a robot police force patrolling the slums of South Africa.

Cantillo would play a gangster named Yankie

Sharlto Copley would play the police robot while Dev Patel will play a man in the impoverished town.

Described as a science fiction comedy, Chappie is based on an original concept thought up by Blomkamp and his wife, District 9 co-writer Terri Tatchell.

Simon Kinberg is producing the film.
