"Dumbo" Live Action Film Takes Flight

Heat Vision reports that Disney's 1941 animated classic "Dumbo" is getting a live-action remake at the Mouse House.

The original 64-minute film follows a baby circus elephant who is made fun for his large ears. When his mother steps in to protect him and is locked up for it, he ends up on the road with a mouse as his companion. The mouse instills Dumbo the idea that with the help of a magic feather, he can fly.

In order to pad the story out, the new version also includes a unique family story said to parallel Dumbo's story. The flying elephant will be created using CGI.

"Transformers: Age Of Extinction" scribe Ehren Kruger is writing the script for the new version and and will produce alongside Justin Springer ("Tron: Legacy," "Oblivion").
