"Leatherface" Gets A Scribe

Genre screenwriter Seth M. Sherwood has signed on to write the script for "Leatherface," the upcoming prequel in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre film series in development at Millennium Films says The Wrap.

The film will be the eighth overall entry in the franchise and is sharing the same title as the 3rd film in the series. This one will serve as a prequel to Tobe Hooper's original 1974 classic and explore the origins of the character.

A director search is underway for the project

Christa Campbell, Lati Grobman and Carl Mazzacone will produce.

Production hopes to begin this winter.

I know I'm in the minority here but I really enjoyed the 2003 version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and its prequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning from '06; Both films were improvements over The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 in 1986 1990's Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 and the more recent Texas Chainsaw 3D
