Diane Nelson, newly named chief of Warner Bros. DC Entertainment division, told MTV this week that the future of Superman on the big screen is...on hold...
"We actually don't have any current plans for Superman. We've obviously done a lot of great things behind the property in our history, and it's a key part of the family, but we don't have current plans behind Superman" said Nelson.
Court rulings against DC regarding Supes last month started rumors that the studio would be forced into making a new "Superman" film before a rights reversal takes place in 2013.
The legal morass means the Man of Steel won't be making it back to the big screen for a long time.
Leaving only TV's Smallville to carry the banner as it kicks off with what many expect to be its last season September 25th.
Filled with mixed emotion on this news--I want the next movie to be really great for sure...But I'm not quite ready to wait another 10 years plus to see it.
