So Long Superman

What will Bryan Singer be working on next? Not Superman: Man of Steel it would seem.

HitFix got the ball rolling...now it's been confirmed by THR the man in charge of “Superman Returns” and “X-Men" will produce and direct the new "Battlestar Galactica" reboot film.

But, the flick will NOT be based on the recent BSG series that ran from 2004 to 2009 but rather a reworking of the original concept from the 70's TV series.

Nearly a decade ago-- Singer and producer Tom DeSanto came close to reviving the property with a 'sequel' to the classic show that would've kicked off with a $14 million backdoor pilot.

Development was well underway and then the September 11 attacks happened and the network got very skiddish and ultimately scrapped the plans.

In February of this year original show creator Glen A. Larson inked a deal with Universal Pictures to develop a "Galactica" film that was not tied to any previous version. This is the same project.

Supes has been in limbo forever--I'm not surprised Singer has moved on....rather that no decision has been announced on the fate of MOS as a film itself. Given recent courtroom events --Judge deprives DC /Warner Bros.of certain storylines.
