Jeff Foxworthy Makes Live-Action Film Debut

The last decade brought with it many fads; one of them was Blue Collar Comedy, a redneck-themed style of humor popularized by “comedians” such as Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy. The latter has starred in his fair share of disappointing live-action features but works surprisingly well as Mater in the otherwise lackluster – to put it nicely – Disney/Pixar film Cars.

Now Foxworthy looks to test the waters in the world of live-action film. Variety reports that he’ll have a supporting role in Crackerjack, a sports comedy where he’ll play an announcer for the Church League; Wes Murphy plays the titular role.

I hear this just as I was forgetting about the existence of Blue Collar Comedy. Though Foxworthy induced belly aches with quite a few, I can’t say that I was one of them. If he can pull off this role, that’s fine, but here’s hoping that this isn’t just an unnecessary extension of his fifteen minutes in the spotlight.
