Hollywood icon Robert Redford hasn’t appeared in a film since the disappointing Oscar bait film Lions for Lambs in 2007, but it looks like we’ll be seeing him again very soon.
According to The Los Angeles Times’ 24 Frames blog, Redford looks to play Branch Rickey, executive for the Brooklyn Dodgers, in a currently untitled biopic about his relationship with Jackie Robinson. Brian Helgeland, notable for writing such titles as L.A. Confidential, will direct his own script.
For what it’s worth, I’m glad that this legend will be returning to the silver screen. How do you feel about this casting?
