Ice Cube and Kevin Hart are closing deals to reprise their roles as the quick-witted security guard (Hart) who has his eye on an an Atlanta cop's (Cube) sister.
Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi will be back to pen the script for director Tim Story
Shot for just $25 million, the movie opened mid-January to a record-breaking $41.5 million and stayed in the top spot for three weeks. It remains in the top six with strong staying power and has made a highly impressive $117 million at home.
Ride Along 2 is expected to have more action and include a more multi-cultural demographic to appeal to an international audiences as both American comedies and African-American targeted films can struggle overseas at the box-office.
Production hopes to begin late by June/early July.
The first Ride Along is coming to Blu-ray and VOD April 15 & Digital HD on April 1st
