The spy thriller follows an upbeat Midwestern woman (Cameron Diaz) who goes on a blind date with a man (Tom Cruise) who turns out to be a federal agent. She gets pulled into a violent worldwide journey to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source.
Blucas will play the woman's fireman ex-boyfriend, who is still smitten with her and becomes confused by the agent's overtures of friendship.
Maggie Grace plays the sister to Diaz.
As a Buffy fan--Blucas is a known entity of course--But I dare say this could be Blucas' biggest film yet...and hey since he worked with Mrs. Cruise Katie Holmes in First Daughter he and Tom should have plenty to discuss between takes...
Mangold calls action when shooting is scheduled to begin next month.
