Schoolhouse Rock

Comedian-turned-filmmaker Bobcat Goldthwait ("World's Greatest Dad") has written a script and will direct a film based on the 1970's album Schoolboys in Disgrace by The Kinks says The Hollywood Reporter.

The story follows a troublesome schoolboy and his posse who are humiliated by the headmaster and vow to fight back against "the Establishment." He later becomes a supervillain named Mr. Flash.

Goldthwait describes it as "a realistic high school musical for all the kids who hate sugary, sweet, unrealistic high school musicals."

The original songs will be re-recorded by the eventual cast members.

Howard Gertler and Tim Perell will produce the pic

Filming to take place in the UK
