Zac Efron and Justin Timberlake are said to be competing for the lead role in the film adaptation of of David Bryan's Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Memphis reports The New York Post.

The pair have been spotted in the audience of the show and are reportedly interested in the lead role of '50s-era radio DJ Huey Calhoun.

Winning Best Musical at this year's Tony Awards, is based on the life of Memphis disc jockey Dewey Phillips , one of the first white DJs to play black music in the 1950s. .

Oliver Stone has been spotted in the audience of the show meeting with Bryan about the film adaptation, but nothing official yet

If Stone does get to helm the pic Timberlake is reportedly his top choice to star.

Timberlake would be my pick as well if I were calling action
