Billy Dee REALLY Wants To Play Lando Again & C-3PO Speaks

As the universe waits for official word that original actors Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher are returning for "Star Wars: Episode VII" ...
Oscar winner Michael Arndt ("Toy Story 3," "Little Miss Sunshine") is writing the script for the “Star Wars: Episode VII that J.J. Abrams directs The script is said to include Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo in their later years. No official word yet if Hamill could be tempted to return as Luke Skywalker but he is interested... Fisher had all but confirmed that she would be back in the role of Princess Leia--but then her rep told CNN that she 'was joking'  Ford is also interested...

Franchise creator George Lucas told Bloomberg Businessweek that he begun talks with original stars to have them return to for its new films -- before he had even begun the process of the ultimately $2 billion deal between Disney/Lucasfilm.

"We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison—or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, ‘Look, this is what’s going on. Maybe I’m not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them... I won’t say whether the negotiations were successful or not."

Writers Lawrence Kasdan ("The Empire Strikes Back," "Raiders of the Lost Ark") and Simon Kinberg ("Sherlock Holmes," "X-Men: Days of Future Past") have reportedly closed deals to pen the final two instalments of the new "Star Wars" trilogy. Kasdan and Kinberg are also indeed developing stand alone Star Wars features.

Kasdan and Kinberg would also join the projects as producers with Kathleen Kennedy.
Now 2 more actors who appeared in first few films Billy Dee Williams and Anthony Daniels say that they are keen on returning to that "galaxy far, far, away"

Williams posted this statement on his Facebook page

"Everyone is still asking about the new Star Wars movie.... the best way to ensure that Billy Dee Williams will be in the new film is to FB, TWITTER, BLOG and tell Disney and Lucasfilm that you want to see LANDO again! Hopefully JJ will read the wishes and write in LANDO! UNTIL then.... here is all that is known: 'I am in the dark with the actual plans that Disney and Lucasfilm have for the future of the 'Star Wars' universe. I have heard the same rumors that the fans heard, that a new trilogy is being made, that spin-offs may be made, that we all [Mark, Carrie, Harrison and myself] are going to be reprising our roles in these projects. At this point in time, nothing has been confirmed about my participation and I have signed no contracts. I assure you that I would absolutely love to reprise my role of Lando Calrissian. He's a character that I took great pride in creating on screen and have continued to be a part of when providing his voice for video games, the new 'Star Wars Detours' cartoon and for various episodes of 'Robot Chicken, among other projects. It’s a lot of fun to keep Lando alive and I am eager to do it again, on film, when I get the call. I thank all the fans out there for their continued support and I hope to get the call from Disney and Lucasfilm real soon, until then, may the force be with us all!"

I see he is taking the William Shatner wants to be in "Star Trek" '09 approach....

Meantime Daniels who played C-3PO in the first six films spoke to Digital Spy about the sequel . He seemingly hasn't heard anything either, though he is taking a slightly more reserved approach to the idea

"I'm certainly not sitting by the phone, but it's always nice when it rings. Do you know what I mean?"

I have a feeling that we'll be hearing an announcement soon once JJ puts his "Star Trek Into Darkness" duties behind him.
