Deadline reports that author Chuck Hogan has been hired to redraft the script for The Rockford Files film.
The film is based upon the classic TV series that ran from Sept. 10, 1974 through Jan. 10, 1980 and was created by Stephen J.Cannell and Roy Huggins James Garner starred as an ex-con who became a disheveled but charming private eye in Los Angeles with a knack for solving cold cases living out of a mobile home in Malibu.
Hogan takes over from David Levien and Brian Koppelman who were hired write the adapted script two years ago.
The film is being developed as a vehicle for Vince Vaughn to both star in and produce. Victoria Vaughn will also produce the picture.
