Dominic Monaghan and Freddy Rodríguez are set for actor-writer-director Barthélémy Grossmann's sci-fi horror thriller "Fortuna"according to The Hollywood Reporter.Set in 2100,the film sees Earth with a collapsed economy (are you sure it's a future tale and not present day?) and climate change have eliminated the middle class leaving a few very wealthy and the teeming masses in severe poverty. To avoid an uprising the elite create a mysterious game where one in a thousand wins a big payday and joins the upper class. Their hidden goal to "reduce poverty" by 30% over 50 years comes with a deadly price tag.
Monaghan, Rodriguez and Grossmann will play desperate contestants who play the game, despite apprehensions that none of its players are ever seen again.
Despite a moshed premise-I'm intrigued just enough to see where this goes...As a fan of both actors.
Shooting runs from November 10th to late December in the Bulgaria
