The demand for tix to attend to Fox's Avatar Day on Friday August 21st when IMAX theaters around the world will show a 15-minute sneak peek of the movie. The free passed were made available via the film’s official site AvatarMovie.com. Traffic was so high the site crashed.The constant refreshing brought down the servers for several hours and Fox spun the situation with this “Look how many people want to see this extended commercial!”
What did they expect would happen with Free Tix?
THR says about 17,000 of the 68,000 available seats were booked before the site gave out. Fox was able to get it back up and running later and said users were ordering five tickets a second.
Crazy! I will be content with just seeing the trailer in 2 days...Thank you very much...Sheesh
